“I just need to built-in a check that delays the installation – it has to wait on the dependent processes to be closed by the user him/herself before installing the application.
Also I don’t want a message to be displayed to the user to instruct him/her to close these dependent applications/processes before Installation can continue.”

    1. Then you need to check if someone is log on an interactive session first –> This informations is already available in PSADTK

    2. If someone is logged on run a get-process and find if your process is existing, if not then go!
    3. But what about if the user remain login 3 weeks with Chrome open? Also with SCCM no other deployment will be occurring…. You should popup Something to the user or just close Chrome and go!

    Hi,

First of all you need to understand why your software need admin rights to be install. Maybe the software is uncompressing and one part need admin right and the other one will not.

Did you ask the Publisher Customer support? May be the Customer support have a machine base msi instead a user base one.

    Thanks,

    Hi,

If it is working on 10 computers then the problem might be on the 11th. Application model or package?

    Thanks

    Hi,

From PSadtk you will know if someone is logged in on the computer. So you have to make a condition in your script to test if someone is logged in or not.

We created a Winbatch compiled script to show Windows with message and those Windows will be showed only if a user is logged on. Just use the Execute-ProcessAsUser function. Don’t forget sccm as a 12 hour timeout.

    Thanks,

    Hi,

    How are you deploying it?
If deployed with SCCM then what is showed in SCCM logs? I believe it is not a psadtk problem.

    Thanks,

    Hi,

Execute-ProcessAsUser is creating a Schedule task and make it run Under the user credential if someone is logged on. If noone islogged on then the Schedule task will run at logon.

    Hi,

Just replace the old psadtk files with the new one and edit the xml just to be sure you lose Nothing. And test.

    Thanks,

    Hi,

Did you put some write-log in your application to diagnose what is happening.
I am always deplying with install interactive with no problem on Windows 8.1.

Probably some write-log put on strategic place would reveal you what is happening.

    Hi,

I believe it would not be hard to do so. Probably the authors would appreciate getting your translations. I would suggest to be carefull as some place in PSADTK contains hardcode English text.

    Thanks,

    Hi,

How are they suggesting to deploy that software on your computers? They should have a suggestion? Is it because it is a free version? If so then may be using the other version…

    Thanks,

    Hi,

While deploying with sccm deploymode will not be interactive. You will have to use another way to display a prompt. I mean it will not be working with application model but should work with package model and user interaction.

    Hi,

We have no issue as we are looking to evaluate a migration to SCCM CB and PSADTK is supporting SCCM 2012 R2.
